Conducted a community needs assessment that included over 60 households. Recruited and managed a network of Health Promoters—40 individuals representing 25 remote rural communities—and worked with medical staff, government, and nonprofit organizations to develop trainings for Health Promoters. Collaborated with the National Service of Malaria Eradication (SNEM) in the design and implementation of an epidemiologic data survey, the development of community malaria prevention plans, and the implementation of rapid malaria tests in 26 rural communities with a total of 5,000 inhabitants. Developed a microcredit project and trained four community members to manage the project, which provided over 200 small-business loans to local people. Assisted community leaders in writing grant proposals to fund a project to provide piped water to over 200 households. Provided health education to elementary and high school students and adults. Organized a community health fair in which over 500 people were screened for and educated about chronic illnesses.
