In my current position I manage automotive projects (currently Skoda SuperB's new bumper) from the supply side all the way from nomination until the successful launch - including purchasing injection moulds and assembly lines, raw materials, services and parts, setting up processes with support from the team in terms of cost, quality and logistics. Project specifications are changing constantly based on either customer's requirements or our internal need for improvement. It's critical to maintain good relationship with the project team as well as with the suppliers to be able to ensure efficient communication and resolve conflicts. In this position we do not have strict supervision and project events are far in the future, so it requires a lot self-discipline and pro-active approach to have the project moving forward according to the schedule.
