I’m pleased to tell you about Joan Godoy, whom I have known for some time. Joan was a student at Webster University in Leiden, The Netherlands, where I also hold the position of Head of Department of Business and Management. I have had the opportunity to observe Joan in a variety of settings. Her qualities of mind and character are exceptional. Joan has substantial study and people skills. I have seen her converse with other members of her class on sophisticated global NGO, business, and management issues with ease and compassion for the views of others. I can also assure you that there is core strength in Joan that any organization would find valuable. Joan was among the most ambitious students I have observed in the courses offered at Webster, Leiden, scoring well on all exams and assignments. As you already know, Joan has done an admirable job preparing herself for a career in helping others under new and different settings, here in The Netherlands, and Latin America. It should be noted that she has done very well academically, while balancing other important demands on her time as a Mental Health Professional and NGO Consultant. I have been an attorney-at-law and adjunct professor for more than twenty-five years and have rarely seen a student with more enthusiasm for study and hard work, under pressure, than Joan. In short, I heartily recommend Joan Godoy to you for her ability to work and communicate well with others, her record of achievement, and energy in the face of life’s challenges. Sincerely, /S/ Arthur De La Loza, J.D., LL.M.

I met Joan in Guatemala before going to Holland, because she was currently studying at Webster Leiden. Since I first met her, she was a supportive, honest and enthusiast person. Then, we developed a really good friendship that I am totally sure will last long even we don't live in the same city. Besides our friendship, I can tell that I know her regarding her profesional and academic life. As her profesional life; she was the RA of the Webster's Living and Learning Center while I was living there. All the time she was there, things were organized, and she always had a smile and a helpful hand to all tenants. As her academic life; she was honest, responsible and intelligent. A real example for all students, specially those who also got the Nuffic scholarship as her.
