I managed the Sheffield service with the responsibility for recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers. I, along with the volunteer team, gave practical and emotional support to litigants in Civil and Family cases; helping with legal forms and applications, moral support in hearings, and signposting to advice agencies. I had accountability for the delivery budget and community fundraising. The development and maintenance of strong relationships with local corporates and the judiciary was also key to the success of the unit.

The British Red Cross is part of a global voluntary network helping people in crisis, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. I developed and facilitated interactive Crisis Education sessions for children and young people across South Yorkshire to help build resilience. This focused on the key themes of Disasters and Emergencies, Refugee Anti Stigma, HIV Anti Stigma and First Aid. I was also responsible for the recruitment and training of a volunteer team to enable the service to expand and meet local need.

Eclipse IPD created education and training solutions to optimise the potential of the people within an organisation. After identifying an organisation's needs and expectations, I created packages to best meet the brief. Our work was guided by the principle that, as the people within the organisation grow, the organisation itself will flourish. Examples of clients I regularly worked with include the long term unemployed, The Prince's Trust, RAF cadets and corporates.
