I oversaw the day to day operations for Adult Education (Every Day First Aid Training) line managed 3 direct reports oversaw volunteer management (approximately 30) for our service in three countiesResponsible for recruitment, induction and ongoing development of staff and volunteersbudget holder of £105,000 (Adult Education general funds) with an additional £6,000 in various restricted funds from legacies/local targeted fundraisingLead Adult Education Health and SafetyAutumn 2015 I was part of a departmental marketing group who designed, developed and printed a joint service volunteer recruitment flyers to advertise all the services of British Red Cross in Beds, Herts and Essex. First used at a joint services volunteer recruitment event in February 2016. Experienced at networking with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to seek out, develop and maintain partnerships to assist with the identification of ‘at risk groups’ and co-ordinate a staff and volunteer team to deliver everyday first aid training to increase resilience, first aid knowledge and improve health outcomes for vulnerable groups by offering bespoke 2 hour courses embed the principals that first aid skills don’t have to be technical, it’s easy to teach and easy to learn using everyday items like tea towels and cling film to save lives and improve health outcomes to local vulnerable people at risk of illness or injury in their homes and local communities.Between Jan - April 2016, collaboratively on 4 funding applications to increase staff capacity and purchase new first aid training resources and suitable storage facilities to be able to continue to offer subsided every day first aid courses learners and organisations unable to secure their own training budgets for staff, volunteer, carers and service user development to increase our reach and geographical footprint. Before Leaving I had secured a £6,000 capital grant from Colchester Catalysts

• I supported residents with various problems including drug/alcohol, mental health, learning difficulties, asylum seekers and other social housing issues, residents came from a various of vulnerable backgrounds including long term unemployed, criminal and unstable family situations and complex difficulties.• Oversaw the development of the training kitchen to teach residents basic cooking skills, supervised two cooking tutors and produced a recipe book to help celebrate the YMCA’s 40 year anniversary.• Wrote and taught to both individuals, small groups of residents & staff ‘dealing with your emotions’ workshops, including 6 week Anger Management, how to raise your self esteem/confidence.• I have also set up and managed the bike loan scheme, overseeing maintenance and the loan process. • I set up and chair an Association wide Christian Witness meeting, helping to shape, plan and implement a more co-ordinated approach to this side of our organisation. • I have co-lead a number of Basic Christianity courses for small groups of residents, and run a number of Christian celebration events.• Across Association and Community Group networking, chairing meetings, setting agendas, taking meeting, and following through to achieve planned outcomes, also planned and overseen MP’s visits, arranged large community meetings, i.e. Tough Talk.• Campaigning against ‘unfair injustice’ on behalf of YMCA residents often from very unstable, vulnerable backgrounds.
