Following the merger of cities in the province of Quebec in January 2002, the City of Quebec, following an intense period of uncertainties at all levels, is forced to massively reorganize its infrastructures in order to introduce a new organizational structure of 13 cities combined. The $8M project divided into different categories covered the following: Active Directory services, the standardization of Windows Server 2003, the standardization of Windows XP Workstations (over 3,500 Workstations), the implementation of remote management services, in addition to the standardization of printing services and various applications. The project called “IMAGE”, required the coordination of several different professional resources, (human resources, financial and material resources). The project covered 2 main locations in Quebec, which included over 150 servers and 3,500 users. As IT Professional Coordinator, Analyst and Project Manager for the City of Quebec, and in accordance to defined “IMAGE” project objectives, my responsibilities included the following elements: Participate in the architectural design and development phases as well as ensure the coordination of technical teams: Active Directory, servers, remote management services (ZENworks), workstations, printing services, etc.; Ensure an effective coordination between different project groups (as listed above); Elaborate project workbook, technical specifications and proposal lyses; Follow-up on project phases and critical milestones in order to ensure compliance to project schedule and budget; Provide project phase reports to the executive committee for approval; Ensure proposed solution can seamlessly integrate within already existing infrastructures (intermediate deliverable); Prepare and conduct official design reviews in order to obtain consensus from all project participants, (effective project communication); Show less
