Bio
Rory Britt
I have known Jim for about eight years, and have been both a co-worker and manager to him. He has been one of those rare individuals who really does have a deep understanding of the many facets that make up information technology – systems, security, networking, programming – you name it, and odds are that he not only knows the subject, but can speak to it in a very expert, professional manner. He has demonstrated time and again the practical use of that knowledge to solve technical issues both large and small. Regardless of the issue, be it some esoteric operating system problem he has been asked to solve or examining a network design for security and efficiency, Jim has always been relied upon by those who know him to be up to the task. Finally, Jim is a man passionate about his profession, and shares that passion with all those around him. He lives by a high standard of excellence when it comes to information technology, and continually strives to improve his technical and professional abilities. He freely shares his knowledge with others and is a natural mentor on technical subjects.
Anthony Tobey, CISSP, CCSP
I've known Jim since about 1987, since then he is and has remained one of the first people I go to when I'm researching a new project. Not only is Jim's knowledge both broad and deep, he is able to articulate that knowledge in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, he welcomes discussion on any and all topics, and embraces alternative viewpoints as an opportunity to re-examine something from a different perspective. Jim can definitely expect me to seek his opinion on a regular basis, his ability to help me avoid the first dozen potholes when researching or implementing a project is invaluable.
