I had a great pleasure of helping hire Jonathan at Kaplan and then directly managing him for many years. Jonathan was exceptional in every aspect of his job...exceptional developer, exceptional data analyst, exceptional solution architect, exceptional teammate. He made my job managing the team significantly easier as I could count on Jonathan for anything I needed which is why he quickly became the go-to guy for so many areas of our business. One of Jonathan's key strengths was his deep knowledge of database development/design and data structures which included understanding how all of the data in our systems interacted. He was consistently making sure our data was reliable and efficient...if it wasn't Jonathan would be the first one fixing it. He would find hidden patterns in data that others could not see and then leverage that data to develop solutions to any reported issues or build use cases for automation. It was a sad day when Jonathan left Kaplan, but I knew his talents would eventually take him to even greater challenges. I hope one day in the future I have the fortune of working with Jonathan again.

Although Jonathan and I shared the same role as Senor System Analysts, he was the real SQL expert on our team - he has the Microsoft Certified Expert SQL Certification to prove is, as well - and with his extensive knowledge, was a great mentor to myself and the other Senior and Junior System Analysts. Johnathan is an expert at data mining, cleaning data, manipulating data, production support, designing, developing, and finding internal and external trends that drove decision making on our team, and throughout the department, and the organization. Whatever issues we were stuck on as individuals or as a team, whether from SQL coding issues with complex stored procedures, or meeting business requests for data visualizations, Jonathan was not only willing to lend a hand, but always was able to quickly come up with a solution while the rest of us were spinning our wheels. Jonathan has improved my coding, and my knowledge just by being around him and working on projects with him. He is easy to work with, and project stakeholders, and peers from our and other departments loved to work with him.
