I am currently a key architect involved in the architectural decisioning and design for the migration of existing systems based across various on-premise platforms into Google Cloud Platform, providing core component functions to numerous internal systems, as well as data warehousing and reporting for stakeholders. This is a core Tier 1 system for the Bank, requiring CI\CD and Agile management for feature releases, for which I have acted as Scrum Master on a number of occasions, with extensive experience in team and release management. Current design responsibilities are dictated by requirements from the Regulator for Disaster Recovery and Stressed Exit contingency capabilities. I am thus involved in further architecture designs through to lower level technical designs of the system from GCP into Microsoft Azure and Cloudera Data Platforms using various native components and API integrations. This role consisted of numerous responsibilities, including the evaluation and analysis of new technologies and tools, team management and consultancy for designs, stakeholder engagement, and working with Enterprise Architects on overall strategic vision. The system architecture comprised of numerous components and applications across Mainframe, Linux, Microsoft SQL Server and vendor applications\APIs. I was part of an architecture team to produce subsequent strategic designs utilising Oracle, additional third-party applications and designing bespoke interfaces and APIs, ultimately migrating to Hadoop and Big Data platforms. The role covered various aspects and stages of the programme, and as a result I had responsibility for a diverse DevOps team based in the UK and overseas. Prior to this role, my initial responsibility within HSBC, was 18 months as Technical Lead for a Retail Data Warehouse, and Commission Analysis system within a mainframe environment. Designing and presenting functional designs to stakeholders for funding and approval was a key responsibility of the role.
