      Vertiflex developed, manufactured and commercialized a interspinous spacer device called Superion. This device is placed in-between the spinous processes of L1-L5 and acts as an extension blocker to the level where the implant is placed. Once placed the device opens up the central canal , Lateral recess and foraminal areas respectively of the treated level. This provides an indirect decompression to the affected nerves that are otherwise compressed during extension causing intermittent neurogenic claudication ( leg numbness , tingling and pain ) as well as back pain. The device is backed by strong level 1 evidence this includes a 5 year IDE clinical trial showing 90% patient satisfaction at 5 years. The Superion implant is used in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis and is a minimally invasive procedure and is performed in either a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.       Intersect ENT's product portfolio consists of three different products Mini Propel , Regular Propel and Propel Contour . Propel is an implantable stent used during FESS ( functional endoscopic sinus surgery ). This surgery is done in response to treat chronic sinusitis . Each of the three stents are impregnated with a powerful steroid called mometasone furoate which is proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of inflammatory conditions. The Propel stent allows this powerful drug to not only be delivered locally right to the tissue and area where it is most needed. Propel also provides mechanical force to the opening of the Ostia and or stabilization of the middle turbinate. This prevents potential restenosis of the sinus or if placed in the middle meatus , lateralization of the middle turbinate post FESS operation. The stent delivers mometasone furoate to the mucosa over a 30 day period and actually dissolves in 45 days. 2017: 100% to plan for the year , 17% growth Y/Y 2018: Finished 121% to plan which ranked #1 of 82 territory managers , grew business Y/Y 43% which ranked 2nd in the company for overall growth.
