      The mission of Side-by-Side is sharing laughter, rest, and togetherness with families who have a seriously ill child in treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital. We provide relational support through a variety of life-changing programs, including: :: A week-long summer camp and three-day winter weekend for families who have a child with cancer. :: Weekly volunteer teams who serve dinner and host activities at Seattle's Ronald McDonald House. :: Volunteer pairs who spend time each week with kids whose families have relocated to Seattle for medical treatment. :: Side-by-Side preschool for kids age 3-5 hosted at the Ronald McDonald House three days per week. My responsibilities as Director include: :: Development, implementation, and coordination of creative and effective support programs serving 60-70 families each year who have a seriously ill child. :: Oversight of $450,000 annual budget and cultivation of a growing donor base through innovative and meaningful fundraising events and giving campaigns. :: Oversight of thoughtful recruitment, training, supervision, and professional development for five staff members and 250+ annual volunteers. :: Development and oversight of strategic communication plan promoting the work of Side-by-Side to various stakeholders including volunteers, donors, families, and local care providers. :: Development and on-going cultivation of strategic and collaborative relationships with professionals from the local healthcare community and other non-profit organizations serving similar populations, including Seattle Children's Hospital, Seattle's Ronald McDonald House, The Hutch School, The Goodtimes Project, The Austen Everett Foundation, Make-a-Wish, Camp Agape, Footprints of Fight, and many others.
