As a consultant to the UNICEF in Erbil through the Economic Policy Research Institutes (EPRI), my responsibilities included providing various services as needed for drafting and revising Social Protection Policy in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. These services encompassed the following tasks: preparing research proposals, liaising with research groups and assistants, collecting and analysing relevant data, submitting project deliverables within specified timeframes, presenting research papers at workshops and conferences, attending conferences on behalf of the Client, representing the Client at meetings, engaging in stakeholder consultations, leading and supporting the development of data collection instruments and deliverables, contributing to development proposals and business development products, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, providing in-country support for consultations and meetings, and supporting policy advisory and capacity development initiatives of the Client. I am part of a broad project titled Gender, Justice & Security funded by UK Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). The project is directed by London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) in partnership with Middlesex University of London, and the Lebanese French University. The project is one of the largest in the social sciences, creative industries and humanities ever awarded to LSE, bringing together 44 partners in 17 countries. “It aims to deliver innovative interdisciplinary research on the challenge of achieving gender justice and inclusive security in conflict-affected societies." With an amazing team in UK, Middle East, and Kurdistan, I am working on the three projects of the hub: a) Displacement and IDPs; b) Labour Migrants; and C) Return Migration, Reintegration, & Political Restructuring.
