  Biogen was the catalyst that propelled Patel into construction business management. As contractor to the multinational biotechnology company, Patel provided conceptual design, engineering, procurement, construction management, and validation (EPCMV) services at Biogen's campus at Research Triangle Park. During his eight years with Biogen, Patel managed $200M in total across 50 projects. He managed construction projects valued up to $30M—from inception to design, scoping, documentation, permitting, commissioning, and validation. Seminal projects included large-scale renovations and build-outs of high-end pharmaceutical, biologics, and manufacturing facilities. Several projects were featured in industry trade publications and cited for excellent design, modular construction methods, and safety record. With a pulse on all aspects of projects, he sourced, coordinated, and managed multiple teams, including architects, engineers, design firms, contractors/subcontractors, lab owners, and business managers. Over the years, Patel also managed several independent design-build projects valued at $3M to $4M each, with a core focus on hotel renovations—from midscale to high-end luxury hotel brands, including Marriott. As business owner wearing multiple hats, he held full responsibility for the success of all construction projects—from site builds to subcontractor coordination, business administration, and client satisfaction. He honed his ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
