I worked with Jingyuan on the same team for about 3 years. I trained him as an engineer for a large distributed system that I started building a couple of years before. This complex project involved many challenging aspects including massive preparation and debugging of high-valued data, robust DevOps, large scale service operation, distributed monitoring and metrics, networking and reliability engineering, and requirements for high parallelization, throughput, and up-time. Jingyuan has been very disciplined in studying the system and was able to make contributions that exceeded my expectations. He also took initiative to own and resolve a long-standing requirement that was critical for the customers. Jingyuan has grown tremendously in this project and has mastered many aspects of developing and operating large scale distributed systems. I recommend Jingyuan and am sure he will do very well in future endeavors.

      - Worked on visualization and analysis in cosmological simulations. - Assisted in developing parallel voronoi tessellation algorithm to identify voids in the large simulated particle data set. Contributed in both the algorithm acceleration and benchmarking. - Developed interactive post-processing tools as plugins to ParaView. - Worked on visualization and analysis in cosmological simulations. - Assisted in developing parallel voronoi tessellation algorithm to identify voids in the large simulated particle data set.
