Hufcor has plants in the US, Germany, China, Malaysia and Australia. Under his leadership, best manufacturing, engineering and product development processes have been effectively introduced to each entity. At the same time, Jim has also done an excellent job of leading global product rationalization initiatives which have significantly reduced raw material and direct labor costs across all entities. Hufcor's evolving financial strength and position as a world-leader in Operable Walls and Moveable Partitions are due, in large part, to the efforts and leadership of Jim. My introduction to Jim Scott was during the planning and implementation of a multi-million dollar distribution sortation project which proved to be quite challenging. Without Jim’s leadership and perseverance, the project would have been a disaster. Jim worked tirelessly and, with his analytical ability, was able to turn the project into a major success saving the company over a million dollars a year in reduced labor costs. From this grew the understanding that Jim had the intelligence and the drive to make a success of anything he chose to undertake. When it became necessary to resolve major problems at the satellite locations, Jim was the one I could call on to resolve them. He sacrificed his home life to spend extended periods of time whenever and wherever needed. This included taking on the roll of interim Plant Manager on four occasions; one being an eight month stay in Mexicali, MX. His next assignment was to take over a plant which had recently been relocated and was not meeting expectations. Jim once again made the expected turn around and made that plant into a profitable location. If I had not retired, Jim would be the first to fill any available position in the operations or engineering sectors in my organization. You will not find a more loyal and determined individual than this man. He would make a great addition to your organization.
