During my four years teaching at FLHS, I taught a variety of writing and literature courses including American Literature, College Prep Composition, World Literature, Creative Writing, and Science Fiction/Fantasy Literature, writing or developing curriculum for several of these courses. My teaching emphasizes relationship building with students, close reading, deeply thoughtful, analytic writing, self-expression, and respect for those with diverse backgrounds and experiences. I have high standards for students' effort, learning, and behavior and build an intentional classroom environment based on mutual respect and collaborative inquiry.
