As an Energy System Engineer I create valuable insights in energy supply and demand by modelling energy systems with in-house developed software. Projects include cable-pooling wind and solar, revenue potential of large battery systems (>80MW) and electrolysers, and balancing supply and demand on a single grid connection. I have a leading role in delivering innovative software products, creating value for customers as well as for Pondera. Using an agile approach, I focus on developing new business models and improving inefficient processes. Portfolio: - Battery revenue assessment A Python package which builds on the energyhub model (see below). It models battery systems and energy trading on five relevant energy markets in the Netherlands. I had a leading role in the design of the software and supervised a team of four. We started with a prototype in Q2 of 2022, delivered a successful pilot product in Q3 of 2022 and we are currently working on a scale-up version, to be released in Q3 of 2023. We went successfully from prototype to pilot project in one month, under a very tight deadline. - Online wind measurement database A Django web-app with a PostgreSQL database, used to organize all wind measurement data of Pondera. I had a leading role in the software design and supervised a team of three. I pitched the project idea, secured a budget, and delivered a prototype in Q3 of 2021. The pilot product is to be released in Q2 of 2023. - Energyhub model A Python package which models energy flows of complete energy systems based on timeseries data. This project was part of the "RWZI als smart energy-hub" project. I designed and built the program. - External safety calculations Complete automation of all external safety calculations required for wind turbine permits in the Netherlands. I designed and built the software. A prototype was released in Q3 of 2020, an official version was released in Q1 of 2021. A new version is to be released in Q3 of 2023. Show less
