Jim was CTO at DeLorme when I was asked to take over the Professional Sales group. GIS and DeLorme software and devices were totally new to me. Jim helped me overcome my knowledge deficit through a gradual introduction to the concepts of software development, GIS & mapping, and GPS/Camera device manufacturing. Jim is a kind and gentle spirit always willing to lend a hand. He has a mathematical mind with the patience to explain his thought process. His development work was always applied to cutting edge projects. And I always appreciated his willingness to work with customer requests and to seriously consider helping the reasonable ones. Jim is the perfect solution for complex programming challenges across a variety of verticals.

Over several years of working with Jim, it became clear to me how valuable it is to have someone of his skills on any programming team. Jim has an unusual gift to be able to grasp advanced mathematical concepts and implement their practical software solutions. Jim pays close attention to the details. His explanations to his colleagues are clear and comprehensive. Jim demonstrates tremendous patience and a remarkable ability to concentrate on a problem until it is thoroughly conquered.
