Professor Melcher is an outstanding scholar, teacher, and mentor who commands a wealth of political, geographic, and historic knowledge in the classroom. I will not soon forget Dr. Melcher's distinct ability to key in on the interests of people around him, whether students or colleagues, and take his own time to enable the development of those interests to the fullest extent possible. Dr. Melcher helped me find my place in Farmington's Political Science Department and in the world of Public Service with infectious enthusiasm, as I know he is still doing with many others today.

Dr. Melcher provides an education primarily on American politics utilizing his skills with puns and impersonations. He actively pursues ensuring that students are engaged and understand the subject matter. His humor is a positive attribute in the coursework that keeps students attentive.
