      • Apr 2010 - Oct 2014

As Director of Philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy in Florida, I led a statewide philanthropy program with offices in Miami, Orlando, Naples and Jupiter Island/Palm Beach. I had the pleasure of supervising a team of 12 professionals, who were responsible for raising major and deferred gifts to support the organization's state, regional and global conservation priorities. Additionally, I was an active member of the Florida Chapter's Executive Team and served as Interim Director during a leadership transition in the spring and summer of 2014.

    • Director of Philanthropy
      • 1997 - 2010

The Nature Conservancy's North Carolina Chapter has a long and storied history of conservation achievement. I was honored to play a role in it over my 16 years with the program. As Director of Philanthropy, I led a statewide philanthropy program with emphasis on major gifts fundraising and capital campaigns. The latter included managing the $25 million Forever Wild campaign from its inception to successful completion. As a Conservation Fellow at the Palau International Coral Reef Center in Koror, Palau, and in the Conservation Leadership Initiative in Brisbane, Australia, I had the opportunity to collaborate with valued partners to develop their strategic plans and capacities for resource acquisition. Additionally, I was an active member of the NC Chapter's Executive Team and played a major role in strategic planning, staff enrichment and board development.

As Director of Annual Giving for the North Carolina Chapter, I managed annual support programs, including gift clubs for individual and corporate donors of $1,000 or more, direct mail renewals and appeals, telemarketing and events. I also assisted with capital campaign fundraising during the public phase of the $15 million Wild North Carolina campaign.
