Data Center Engineer

Managed and facilitated system maintenance 24x7 for all company owned enterprise data centers across the US including: Fire suppression, HVAC, generators, electrical, UPS, plumbing, and fuel provisioning.Monitored UPS units: Load, capacity, and batteries. CRAC units: Temperature, relative humidity, and operation. PDU: Output currents and load.Designed and implemented cabinet/rack layouts for data center expansion to include: Load balancing Power, network infrastructure, proper cooling, and weight restrictions with structural engineering support.Project managed server migrations.IT support as needed for break fix along with end user domain migrations.Oversaw and approved all expenses related to the data centers infrastructure and critical systems.Developed facility recommendations with cost saving analysis.Utilized Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Auto CAD to create diagrammatic: Floor plans, front equipment/cabinet elevation drawings, network connectivity diagrams, electrical one line drawings, and various structured cabling deployments.

Data Center Technician - Contractor

On site technician and primary point of contact for all: infrastructure design and installation, hardware break fix support for server and network equipment, server migrations, along with new server/network deployments. Daily responsibilities included: Network troubleshooting, assigning DNS entries with proper subnet/IP scheme, port activations, assigning proper VLANs, identifying structured cabling/patching requirements, and calculating power requirements for proper load balancing of new equipment installs.
