Jim is an astounding musician. I personally have not hired him for a gig, but I have seen & enjoyed his performances in a vast spectrum of musical events. Rock and roll, blues, jazz - he can do it all. The man can anything. I don't think he's ever met a song he didn't like. His voice is on par with Van Morrison's and Eric Burdon's - a deep and resonant earthy sound. His bass play is equal in stature. I was pleasantly surprised a year ago (I live out of town) to go into a small bar with friends and see him playing on stage. What a serendipity! Jim's level of play has matured into (an) even more solid smooth play. The guitar in his hands is facile. He can play it strong with a classic riff or coo the music out like silk. It is always a pleasure to hear him perform. He is very humorous and willing to try any idea. Best of all, the audience leaves satisfied like they have had a private concert with a great musician. They will always want one more song.

On top of this, he is a very creative musician who finds just the right musical accent to lift a song up to its full potential. He has a great sense of humor, as well.
