I had the pleasure to work with Jim during our time together at Roseburg Forest Products. Jim was selected to commission the Engineered Wood Products program at RFP from an engineering standpoint. Roseburg's success therein was directly attributable to Jim's effort. He guided the technical attributes of the project through the maze of regulatory hurdles needed to gain code acceptance, establishment of all technical literature and documents, launching of software, and much of RFP's marketing literature. Jim was (and is) an easy person with whom to work: informative, always patient, and an excellent teacher. When our Scrimtec project launches, I would hope Jim would be willing to be a part of it. Jim is a world class engineer/manager.

Jim Collins was very instrumental in helping to build Roseburg Forest Products' Engineered Wood Products (EWP) during his time there. His understanding of the engineering requirements, national codes, and the manufacturing and market dynamics along with how to leverage both the strategic and tactical opportunities during his tenure was excellent. Jim also has a great depth of knowledge on how the industry works and has exceptional skills for teaching and educating while keeping a balance for what is good for the company he works for while at the same time satisfying the needs of the customer
