Essential Responsibilities: • Administering user accounts in a Windows server active directory environment. • Create and Apply Group Policy • Diagnose & repair desktop & laptop hardware & software running Windows XP, 2000, Vista, OS9, & OSX operating systems as well as Office 97, 2000, XP, 03, & 07 applications. • Install & manage print servers & various network printers. • Diagnose & repair network equipment such as 3Com 4400, 4900, & 5500 series switches, & 3Com 3016/5680 series routers. • Install & patch in switches and run cables from switch to network drops. • Troubleshoot wireless issues & repair/replace wireless access points as needed. • Repair and/or replacement of school division’s computer hardware at a bench tech level. • Repair and replacement of schools network infrastructure. • Terminating Cat 5. • Creating and updating images using Symantec Ghost and Sysprep • Installing and maintaining the school division’s application software. • Setup, configuration and testing of new hardware/software and related technologies. • Maintain a supply/parts inventory and act as a primary contact for vendors. • Act as a technical resource and mentor for our school based TCIS staff. • Conduct formal and informal training for teachers and TCIS staff. • Project leader for large hardware and software installations.
