My student film 'An Ode to my Denim Jacket' is about a 14 year-old girl called Aaliyah and her Filipino immigrant family trying to thrive in Melbourne in the 80's. As the writer and producer of the film, I conceptualised and developed multiple scripts whilst managing a group of talented HoDs. My main role was to prepare and authorise schedules and production documents, liaise with actors and authorities. On set, I ensured and fostered crew/actor dynamics and safety (including COVID restrictions). Given that the Filipino culture was in the heart of the story, I worked in the background to help my HoD's, including my director, to work creatively in respect of the culture and its nuances. This included acting as continuity on a regular basis for the Tagalog lines during production and post. In addition, I ran and maintained the film's social media presence on several platforms, with the help of my director, to ensure constant audience engagement and support towards the film.

'When Life Gives You Melons' is a grounded yet poignant short documentary about Miles, a student with dyslexia trying to succeed in an academic space that is yet to accomodate/support kids with such needs. Directed by Christa Hill, I was given the opportunity to work as the documentary's sound recordist and animation. My responsibilities included mixing and maintaining levels on set, storing and taking care of sound equipment, and data wrangling. During post, I helped to mini, quirky animations that support the narrative, giving it an optimistic and child-like flair.
