  I am a collegiate student athlete playing soccer for Point Loma Nazarene University. The health and nutritional requirements for my sport and overall wellbeing have led me to pursue a degree of Nutrition. Being a student athlete has taught me skills that have helped develop me as a person, for example I have: - Demonstrated commitment and responsibility towards my teammates and coaches through respect and dedication to my sport. - Successfully balanced 10 hours per week of athletic activities while managing a demanding academic schedule on campus and during travel. - Action-oriented to constructive suggestions from coaches and teammates to improve skills. - Consistently volunteered to assist with managing equipment and/or setting up drills. - Active and self-motivated in seeking necessary treatment therapies to assist with injury recovery.   - Visited El Salvador on a mission trip to build a house for a disadvantaged family, delivered Christmas gifts to several child and special needs adult shelters, fed the homeless, and engaged in sharing the love of Christ to those I encountered. - Met and built relationships with local leaders to encourage integration of the disadvantaged population with the larger community and provided resources for assistance. - Met individuals to spread love, joy, the word of Christ, pray for and bring gifts and crafts to children. - Transported food, water and other items to those in remote and unprivileged areas. - Completed multiple volunteer trips to diverse areas in various cities to serve impoverished populations. - Assisted with missionary program fundraising efforts by raising money through outreach and social media. - Helped to fund and worked alongside my team to complete the build of and furnish a new home for a local family. - Cultivated relationships with my mission group of volunteers and with the local community that we had the privilege to meet and serve.
