  While at St HOPE I had the opportunity to work and learn with students in grades 6th through 8th. My primary role was ELA lead educator for 6th and 8th grade with a focus on Special Education planning. I held supplemental roles ranging from targeted teaching instructor, advisory supervisor, recruitment and retention coordinator and various coaching roles. While my majority of my time was spent in ELA classrooms, because St HOPE held a high emphasis on cross-curricular work, I was able to spend time weekly leading and participating in STEM lessons in grades 6 and 8. My 8 years at St HOPE fostered a passion for project-based and growth mindset learning. During this time I gained certification in the ELA classroom, with restorative practices, trauma-informed teaching and mindfulness. Show less
