Wetland Restoration Intern
-
Oct 2018 - May 2019
As a wetland restoration intern, I facilitated and oversaw field trips with local kindergarten through university level students through the wetland. Alongside my fellow intern, we were responsible for the overall health and maintenance of the onsite nursery which provided the native species planted during restoration events at Los Cerritos wetland, Colorado Lagoon, and Huntington Beach wetlands. Additionally, I would supervise and assist with restoration efforts during the planting season on the 550 acre wetland. Collectively, we conducted hydrologic, ecologic, and special status species monitoring at Los Cerritos wetland and Colorado Lagoon. Show less

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Signal Hill Environmental Chemistry Lab As a research assistant I have been able to work both on site and in the laboratory on two hydrology and environmental geochemistry projects. Our first project looks at submarine groundwater discharge in Santa Catalina Island through assessing levels of radon in coastal zones. Our second project looks at the levels of radon in the Truckee River through northern California and Nevada.
