For a brief stint, I worked as the supervisor, overseeing the staffing, programming and classes offered at both West Hollywood Park and Plummer Park. At the time, they were inundated with Homeless, so it was not condusive to programming for children, and adults were too afraid to come to the parks for classes. Needless to say, teaching my staff self-defense and not having a city backing a plan to help find other suitable housing for the homeless caused why I left. Work mostly with our Camp, Camp Scherman, to organize Camping weekends for Troops, adults and their daughters and organize/oversee the summer program for 2000 girls each year. This includes the Food ordering, menu, staffing and supervision of 80 plus staff, year-round maintenance of the site, programming, recruitment and training of over 100 volunteers. We started the "Core Camp" concept - of troops coming up for a weekend to get a taste of what is offered during the summer months by including our summer camp staff in the programming and running of these weekends with troops and their leaders.
