My role as an Application Engineer at Emco Wheaton encompassed a wide array of responsibilities, from costing and quoting loading arm bid packages for the Americas and Asia-Pacific, to front-end engineering design support, product selection, and managing customer inquires. I also accompanied our sales team on site visits, where I assisted with technical guidance and troubleshooting. My time spent interacting with customers and developing solutions to their challenges proved to be most fulfilling and fueled my desire to pursue a role in technical sales. Show less

Mechanical Engineer

I volunteered for a few years with Engineers Without Borders on the Payorote rainwater harvesting project. The remote Peruvian village had no access to clean water, and its 250 inhabitants were plagued by health issues from waterborne illnesses. With an abundance of rainfall in the area, our team was tasked with designing an elevated water catchment and treatment system that could supply the villagers with safe, reliable water, as well as handle the periodic flooding of the Amazon River. We developed lessons and pamphlets to teach good hygiene practices, oral re-hydration solutions, and methods to prevent water contamination. Seeing the positive impact the project had on the daily lives and health of the community was a truly rewarding experience. Show less

Subsea Qualification Engineer

Cameron’s R&D Center was my first choice of placement upon graduating from the Subsea Training Program. I enjoyed the ‘hands on’ experience of the lab and found it gratifying to be involved in a project from initial concept/design to testing and validation (hopefully). Throughout my tenure, I executed API qualification test programs for new and existing subsea product lines, including metal and elastomer seals, gaskets, valves, connectors, and tree components. Eventually I served as the subject matter expert for metal gaskets, utilizing ANSYS to calculate critical design requirements. My R&D role continuously challenged me to solve problems and ‘think outside the box’, which allowed me to become a more well-rounded engineer. Show less

I started my career at Cameron in their Subsea Global Engineering Training Program. While in Houston, I completed design-focused rotations in Connectors, Wellheads, Trees, Manifolds, Aftermarket, and R&D. Manufacturing rotations took me to Berwick, LA, Leeds, UK, and Celle, Germany, where I gained exposure to system integration testing, factory acceptance testing, quality control, and non-conformance resolution.
