Work involves the severly mentally ill population. Nurse role is assist consumers with attaining and maintaining stability within the community setting. This is accomplished through medication education, administration, monitoring, and assisting with understanding need for compliance. Also involved with family psychoeducation groups to assist the family in learning to understand the journey to recovery of their family or friend. It has been a rewarding choice in life.
