GoMakeADifference was created by my husband Colin Habgood and I in 2001, to provide grants to UWC Atlantic College students. The concept allowed UWC Atlantic College students an opportunity to make a difference and put into practice the ideals of UWC. In 2016, we rolled the awards out to all UWC Schools and Colleges, with 20 grants being made available to help students make a difference. In 2017, a total of 25 grants was awarded across the UWC Network. As co-founders and co-funders, we assess all applications and allocate awards which we feel best match the criteria for students to be able to put into practice the values of UWC. Show less

Volunteer Board member of UWC International. Together with the Executive Director, Chair and the rest of the board responsible for determining the strategic direction and vision of the organisation, monitoring it's implementation, and ensuring unity and cohesiveness across the movement. I also chair the UWC Community and Engagement Committee, founded in Feb 2016, with responsibility to foster a UWC community, encouraging engagement and positive action to increase UWC's impact and advance the UWC Mission. I am a member of the strategic planning team, currently developing a new strategic plan for the UWC movement. I also chaired the Admission's task force which was instrumental in UWC adopting a 'needs-based' scholarship approach. As an active member of the UWC community, I like to think I support staff and volunteers with practical advice, helping with motivation and generally helping make things happen! Show less
