While I served as the Sea Grant International Program Manager, Jill worked with me on NOAA's efforts related to Sea Grant International in the Latin America and the Caribbean regions. Jill is one of the most thoughtful, kind-hearted individuals I've had the pleasure of working with in my career. Not only did I learn loads from her professionally, but also personally. She is level headed, pragmatic, thoughtful and considerate in all that she pursues. She leads by creating and fostering excellent interpersonal relationships and by listening, and listening very well. I loved it that I didn't have to repeat myself. I could give Jill direction, or hear her thoughts on how to proceed, and she would execute once a decision was made. She was also able to deal with bureaucracy much better than I by being patience and focused on the goal at hand. I would highly recommend Jill as a fellow conservationist and professional in the environmental field. Perhaps we'll work together again one day, maybe not, but we'll always be friends.
