Jonathan Sells
Jiel is an inspiring developer, who dives head first into new technologies and trends within the industry. His passion for his craft is infectious, and is reflected in both his code, as well as his series of video content that he promotes on youtube. He consistently strives to be the best developer he can be, while being a team-focused and friendly colleague with strong leadership skills. Jiel would make a meaningful impact for any company who is lucky enough to catch his interest.
Matthew Bells
Over the past 5 months, I had the pleasure of working with Jiel. He primarily was the product manager for an Android app, and also took on some responsibilities of project manager. He was instrumental in seeing the major revision of the app through to release, a version the team had been working on for about a year. The team responded well to his encouragement for a final push to meet the deadline; it was great to see morale improve shortly after he joined. I very much appreciate his dedication, organization, and enthusiasm.

The Keyboard product was at a point where an organizational, C-Suite led shift from devices and software to cybersecurity was taking place. The Keyboard software product was a pinnacle of innovative technology for the device maker and was (is still) loved by millions of people worldwide and I was tasked with leading it through its final phase. The Keyboard software product was a pinnacle of innovative technology for the device maker and was (is still) loved by millions of people worldwide and I was tasked with leading it through its final phase. I led the development and release with quick and ever-growing demands as the development team was shifting priorities, being moved to different teams, and overhauling a backend to use a new service provider due to legal requirements. I met with and managed multiple meetings with VP's and above and articulated the plan to end of life a product that had been under iterative development and releases for years. Direct Impact: - Led a development team of 9 software engineers and 1 software architect for a final push to overhaul a backend and sunset the Keyboard product. - Improved morale greatly through leadership and managing stakeholder relations (both internal and external) which led to an increase in development velocity of 81.3%. - Work closely with the IR, PR, Legal, and executive teams across the organization to ensure a smooth transition in development effort and manage external stakeholder expectations. Was supported by 2 senior product executives throughout this large effort: Jasmin Mulaosmanovic and Robert Lombardi.
