• Design and Manufacturing Lead, Floor Piano Project for Winchester Science Centre

  • Designed and manufactured a floor piano to exhibit in Winchester Science Centre.• Worked with stakeholder and client to understand their needs by visiting site and did market survey.• Used critical path to plan out the whole product development schedule.• Sourced materials and components following the client’s brief and project budget, decreased 30% of the project expenses by reusing parts and research new matrix combination of cheaper materials which acquire customer’s standard.• Designed and modelled the parts of floor piano using SOLIDWORKS.• Trial and tested the prototypes to select the suitable design method using electromechanical testing machine, increased the strength of the floor piano to withstand force up to 8000N(800kg).• Manufactured all the parts using laser cutting machine, milling machine, and 3D printer, decreased 75% of the production time for manufacturing floor piano parts.• Assembled the floor piano using mechanical tools in 5S work areas.• Collected feedback of the product from stakeholder and end user for continuous improvement.
