  • Support design process, trend research, initial conceptualization and line development. Worked on Athleisure lines independently under guidance of Senior Designer within Cut & Sew Knit Design Dept. of medium-sized organization in fashion industry• Create physical, seasonal concept boards using edited imagery, garment samples from competitive stores and color swatches. Present trendy ideas and new colorations for design concepts to Design Director• Achieve new color standards from original yarns or fabrics to create new color palettes for Athleisure lines, match them with Pantone's to communicate with vendors and order new color standards from Color Solutions International to meet buyer requests• Work on groupings by selecting fabrications and colorations. Create CAD patterns of garment sketches• Prepare selected fabric qualities from original samples for new fabric development, send out quality comments to vendors, file fabric development sheets, and handle raw materials and trims for sampling• Review laboratory dips for new colors, knit downs for stripe development, and mock-ups for dyeing or washing techniques. Discuss their qualities with production team for approval to proceed with bulk production• Present style groupings that show colored sketches with fabrics and trim details directly to Design Director at design development meetings to confirm, take notes on revisions and apply for changes in groupings • Attend fittings to ensure garment details and specs are according to designers’ or customers’ preferences Show less
