My experience as a certified nursing assistant here gave me the opportunity to work with elderly patients. This job made me realize how underserved this part of the population is and how everything I do for each resident, from providing care to small talk, means a great deal to them. Teamwork is crucial to a successful day at work. I learned how to manage my time as well as ask for help in order to care for patients efficiently. The COPE Health Scholar Program provides aspiring medical professionals the opportunity to gain clinical experience through patient interaction, shadowing, and exposure to a hospital setting. As a health intern, I was given the opportunity to observe how doctors, nurses, and other medical staff work together to provide the best care to their patients. My experience as a health intern inspired me to pursue a CNA license to provide more hands on care.
