  The Office of the Commissioner (OFLSC) was merged with Ombudsman Ontario in 2019. The Commissioner reports to Ombudsman Ontario. The Ombudsman is an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario responsible to oversee the implementation of the French Language Services Act by government ministries and agencies. He conducts independent investigations and issues reports containing recommendations aimed at ministers and senior officials.
