  I worked as a research assistant under two professors regarding their research projects. Dr. Jennifer Klay's Nuclear Physics Group: • Collected and analyzed data from the neutron induced fission fragment tracking experiment with the goal of characterizing binary and ternary fission events and increasing nuclear reactor efficiency. • Implemented visualization and classifier software for fission fragment time projection chamber data. • Developed Monte Carlo simulations of ternary fission dynamics and alpha particle stopping power. Presented poster of work at the APS Far West Conference. Dr. Katharina Gillen's Cold Atom Group: • Researched development of cold atom traps using neutral atoms for quantum computing applications. • Aligned and characterized optical system of extended cavity IR diode lasers for a magneto-optical trap. • Developed a data acquisition system and real-time visualizer used in an automated laser tuning process with Python and an Arduino Portenta H7 microcontroller.
