• Advancing the conventional liquid phase peptide synthesis (LPPS) with nanostar-sieving platform, to improve the manufacturing of peptide drugs. - Collaborated with U.S. Pharma- Eli Lilly & Co. to develop a lab-scale nanostar-sieving synthesiser, which can produce high-purity peptide crudes at lower cost than the conventional solid-phase method. - Designed the synthesier and developed organic solvent nanofiltratio membranes for purifications. - Developed and optimised the synthesis routes for producing nanostar with various functionalities.- Lead author of publication in Angewandte Chemie (IF >12).• Joined PharmaSEL, a £5m virtual lab formed by Imperial, University College London and Eli Lilly. The lab aims to transform drugs manufacturing via process system engineering.- Focus on process automation with in-situ real-time analytics. - Study solubilities using a modelling approach. • Experienced in using computational simulation to assist in process developments. Recent works include: - Optimised the organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) process of nanostar-sieving synthesiser using MATLAB. - Modelled biodiesel distillation processes using Aspen for a project sponsored by British Petroleum. Published in Energy and Environmental Science (2020 IF >33) as co-author.• Manage the analytical lab in the Livingston Group. - Manage analytical devices: Acquity Waters UPLC, Agilent’s LC-MS, HPLC and ELSD. Nov 2015 - Feb 2016
Responsible for engineering services to the assets of a joint venture between Shell, Todd and OMV in Taranaki. • Highlight: Created the first-of-its-kind Equipment Levels Diagram to display all equipment’s level details across different technical documents into one graphical interface. Instant information access improved the team’s productivity. • Other practical experiences include: 1. Process documentation and safety: - Updating/drafting Cause & Effect (C&E) matrices and cross-checking the C&E with the ESD logic diagram for plant shutdown hierarchy. - Updating PFD and P&ID diagrams. - Reviewing and updating the safeguarding manuals. 2 .Process operation and control: - Valve sizing and validation. - Site inspections with process engineers.
