Through my experience in farming, I have gained expertise in crop farming, specifically maize, as well as vegetable farming with Corchorus, Selocia, and Amaranthus. Additionally, I have experience in poultry farming and routine maintenance practices. During my time on the farm, I cultivated maize crops and reared chickens from day-old chicks to 8 weeks of age. Through daily routine farm management practices, I learned to manage my time effectively and work diligently to achieve my goals. I also gained valuable interpersonal skills by relating to members of the local community. My experience on the farm helped me to overcome my fear of animals, and I learned a wide range of practical skills that cannot be learned in a lecture hall. These include proper handling and maintenance of farm equipment, as well as the care and management of livestock, including pigs, goats, and cattle. My daily tasks on the farm included arriving promptly at 7 am to tend to crops, including weeding and watering. I also cared for the animals by feeding them and clearing their waste materials, and maintained the farm's equipment to ensure that it remained in good condition. Show less
