I was Jessie's supervisor for three years when we both worked at Credit Union 1. During that time, she took the organization's community engagement to new levels by creating structure, excitement and training around our community engagement initiatives. However, what made her efforts truly successful was her ability to build strong relationships with the employees to be able inspire and rally them for fundraising and volunteer events. Jessie brings a blend of logic and compassion to any project she's involved with and has a true passion for making her community a better place.

I worked alongside Jessie for several years while she served on the board of directors for the Alaska MS Society and while she was employed at Credit Union 1. In those years, I've seen her not only excel at the core elements of her job, like fundraising and community outreach, but also learn other tasks that extend well beyond the scope of her role, like marketing tactics, event planning and even championing our company's internal communications. Jessie’s mastery for both her role, and the projects that extend beyond it, have been critical to our Alaskan communities. In fact, she helped administer community programs are still being used at our organization today. Jessie’s work has continued to pay dividends long past her tenure here and I certainly miss working with her every day.

Rare gem! Its not often you meet someone fiercely dedicated and passionate about community outreach like Jessie. I had the pleasure of working with Jesssie on numerous projects she spearheaded since 2011. She has this unique ability to inspire & rally people together, align interests and resources, and making the experience positively enjoyable for all. Come rain or shine, you can always count on Jessie! Each project she takes on with enthuiasm and confidence. I highly recommend Jessie to any organization that desires positive community impact!

    • Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager
      • Oct 2018 - Feb 2021

On behalf of The Alaska Community Foundation, I manage the State of Alaska mandated Pick.Click.Give. program where Alaskan nonprofits can participate for funding given through individual donations from the permanent fund dividend. In 2021, Pick.Click.Give. raised $3 Million for 630+ nonprofits across the state. The Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager is here to support nonprofits with marketing needs, general fundraising education, application to the program, distributions of funds and works as a liaison to the State of Alaska. In July 2020, the Department of Health and Social Services partnered with ACF to deploy $47MM in CARES Act funding to nonprofits in Alaska. As a program manager on this team, I was the first contact for organizations inquiring about eligibility, guidelines, and general application questions. I also assisted with draft reviews, reviews of applications, and recommendations of funding through this grant opportunity. Show less

I rally our CU1 members and employees to fundraise for a number of different charities throughout the year. CU1's focus areas include youth and education, health, and social services which encompasses hundreds of nonprofits doing amazing things in the community. In 2017, CU1 and its members raised and gave away over $315K for local charities like the Food Bank of Alaska, Best Beginnings and the Financial Reality Foundation!CU1 employees also volunteer for hundreds of organizations across Alaska. I organize those opportunities with the nonprofit and gather our employees to volunteer (during or outside of work hours). In 2017, CU1 volunteered over 5,700 hours - equaling 3.5 full time staff members for most nonprofits in Alaska!I work with senior management on corporate contribution requests, fundraiser requests and our One For All Alaska Fund (learn more at www.cu1.org). This requires detailed tracking of previous years efforts, up to date, real time tracking of the current years efforts and building relationships with our current years nonprofit partners.Elements of this position:Community OutreachFundraisingVolunteeringFundraising LeadershipVolunteer LeadershipBudgetingData Tracking (via FSP and Excel)TrainingRelationship Building Show less

I made valuable and important connections with other members of our community to help further our mission: a world without MS. I did this as a fundraising coach for Walk MS and Bike MS, by working closely with all committees, our Alaska Leadership Council as well as other key community leaders. Specifically I focused on fundraising through three major events: Walk MS, Bike MS and A Chocolate Affair. I also managed a portfolio of major gift donors ($500-$10,000 level). Another part of my role was working with remote staff and volunteers in regards to fundraising programs, appreciation events as well committee meetings, focus groups and council meetings to implement national strategies and move the mission forward.
