When you post a copywriting internship at a TV network, you got lots of aspiring TV writers and very few wannabe copywriters. So, after reading all the students’ spec pilots and screenplays, we decided Jessie’s was the best and offered her the gig. Little did we know (or did she, for that matter), she was ahelluva copywriter, too. I had the pleasure of mentoring and overseeing Jessie’s internship in the summer of 2015 at Starz Entertainment. She wrote taglines (many of which were presented to our shows’ Executive Producers), long copy (a lot of which was used…which is very rare for interns) and spot scripts (both radio and TV). In fact, her last day with us was spent on set shooting a commercial for our sister network ENCORE at Red Rocks Amphitheater. From day one, Jessie exhibited a strong work ethic and natural talent with words. On top of that, she’s driven, funny and as nice as can be. Not only would I recommend Jessie to any prospective agency or in-house creative department, I might just come and steal her from you one day.
