The New Bedford Economic Development Council is the City's lead economic development agency, where we cultivate and promote a transparent, credible, and business-friendly environment, working collaboratively with local, state, and federal partners to support creativity, sustainable job growth, and private-sector investment benefiting the citizens of New Bedford.As the Director of Business Development, I lead the charge in our expansive business development pipeline of those looking to invest deeply into the city, expand business operations, or start a small business.I work diligently to deliver strategic leadership, planning, and management for compelling initiatives designed to drive industry recruitment, business retention, and entrepreneurial growth within New Bedford.Key Contributions:► Project oversight for robust and dynamic pipeline exceeding 80 active projects, with over $400M in development value; includes industry and developer recruitment, existing business support and expansion, and entrepreneurship/start-up cultivation.► Develop and direct annual communications strategy, including social media and targeted email; industry high 52% open rate.► Conceptualized and implemented our two flagship entrepreneur grant programs NB100! and NBForward!► Management and implementation of NBEDC website, utilizing mobile analytics.► Project management of annual report and annual meeting, exceeding 200 guests with keynote speaker.► Ongoing management of catalytic policy group, Regeneration Project Committee; currently working on comprehensive housing study with MassInc and sits on the steering committee for City's upcoming comprehensive plan. With a portfolio of 16.25 MW in solar installations, the City ranks among the top solar municipalities in the continental United States on a per capita basis. As the Sustainability Coordinator/Project Manager of our nationally recognized Energy Office, I developed, implemented, and managed a variety of residential and small business efficiency programs.
