Department of Defence contractor for Alion Science and Technology - Dayton, OH- Designed, prototyped, tested, and integrated several RF modules including multi-stage, multi-frequency (Ku Band) up-converters and down converters as well as RF channel selection modules - Worked on a multi-disciplinary team to create multiple multi-million-dollar test apparatuses.- Pioneered utilization of new prototyping and manufacturing technologies resulting in savings of over $300,000 across multiple projects.- Created a custom spectrum analyzer in LabVIEW which utilizes a software defined radio (SDR) and PC to perform DSP on a dynamic signal at IF, generate spectrum and waterfall displays, store incoming data in pseudo-real time, and allow playback of a previously recorded signal.- Designed and laid our digital control distribution printed-circuit boards (PCBs) to interface with RF hardware. - Programmed microprocessors to properly control with digital chips over SPI.- Helped layout mechanical housing for RF modules for optimized accessibility and RF isolation. Programmed SDR to interface with cell phone via OpenBTS.- Used Xilinx to edit DDS programming in order to multiply frequency by integrating multiple DDS units together at particular phase offsets.- Resurrected and modernized legacy RF scene generator (RFSG) hardware and edited software interface to automate and expedite testing.- Generated documentation describing resurrection methodologies as well as an instruction manual for modernized RFSG apparatus to include use-cases and troubleshooting guide.
