I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jessica for nearly 4 years. Jessica joined our relatively new China operation in 2019, where she quickly learned and untangled our fledgling people-related procedures, benefits and trainings. She went onto to set up the HR related function, which created a solid foundation for our team to quickly grow, in a positive and healthy manner. She has a good eye to judge character in recruiting efforts for new candidates, which is often challenging for many. Rarely did Jessica put forward a candidate from her initial screening that Fictiv didn't strongly consider for an offer and even more rarely did we have mishires. Jessica has a calm and mature personality and actively listens to the team, giving them her full attention. This made our team feel comfortable in approaching her and discussing openly their concerns or frustrations. During her time at Fictiv, Jessica also grew from an IC to managing a team of 3, providing them with guidance and mentoring them to also improve themselves. Under her leadership, 1 direct report especially has taken tremendous strides. Jessica is adept at conflict resolution and performance management. Though luckily, we did not often need to call on Jessica to support in these areas, when it would come up, she was steady, unwavering and overall highly empathetic. Culture is a major importance for Fictiv and under Jessica's stewardship, our team developed to be one where the team openly voice opinions and suggestions, has healthy banter, actively takes part in trainings, and works in an environment that fosters personal development. For example, 18 of our team have improved from little English to a moderate and even in some cases Fluent level in speaking and listening. The improved English and communication abilities has helped us lend their technical expertise to the US to develop our software tools and has helped the team in China advance their careers. I'm limited to just 3000 characters for this recommendation, but could easily write 10X that on her strong character, and the tremendous work ethic and impact she has made for Fictiv.
