Miss Jessica Willis is a delightful young woman who fashions, presents, designs, communicates, arranges, and transforms the blank and lifeless, into rich and meaningful! She is so motivated and enthralled by artwork, that she draws her students in with her as she teaches. Jessica enlists books, painting supplies, various styles of painting, lecture / demonstration / practice, supervision, and ? / answers. The entire Sr.Center Group enjoyed the class!

Nature is my main source of inspiration. I immerse myself into landscapes as I explore during camping, hiking and fishing trips. Much of my work is created or conceptualized on location and recreates my experiences in nature. The colors, texture and vibrations of the natural world are translated into expressive vibrant paintings. I teach at galleries and breweries in Northern California. I have been farming for Canyon Farms for since 2019, and assisting with harvests since 2017. Our company creates 50,000 clones for the five farms totalling 52,000 sq ft. My partner and I farm 10,000 sq ft on our own which is about 6,000 plants per year. We do two runs with light deprevation so during our summer run we pull tarps every day to block the light. We create custom amending based off our soil results for each run, manage pest control with spraying and the use of beneficial insects, brew compost teas each week, and feed the plants with the Advanced Nutrients line of products. In the nursery, we manage our moms for 6 months and cut 4,000 clones every 10 days from March to July. We then hold the genetics for the entire company and create the moms for the following year. We manage crews of 15 for our big days, and we commute to the other farms to help them on their harvest days as well. We dry on site, tote of up the final product, and weigh the totes for Metrc. Our distributor picks up our product in bulk and it is processed at their facility. We amend the beds, and replant for round two to do it all over again. We handle matience on our 120 acre property, including plumbing and water tanks, building greenhouses, clearing the roads on the mountain, tending to the solar batteries, installing new fans and lights, and fixing old infastructure as needed. The Rapid Roof Remover is a light weight, pneumatic SHINGLE AND FLOORING removal tool. It is made and manufactured in Washington Court House, Ohio by my father and has been engineered to a tee! He and I attend the American Rental Association Trade Show every year where we have been featured on the Hot List for 4 years in a row. I start most of the vegetables from seed in greenhouses while planning and managing the 3 acre farm site. We are organic, although we are not certified organic and I would help manage a crew to prep the site before planting, plan the garden's layout for the year, and amend the beds with a small crew. For planting, I would organize a community day where locals would come help us get the starts into the ground. As a nonprofit, we would provide free vegetable starts for the community members, and education seminars to help them grow their own food. As a start up, I also helped with the non-profit's website design, creative marketing strategies, logo design and other graphic design, photography, social media marketing, general networking. I would attend farmer's markets to bring revenue in, and created CFA box program to help balance the account. Grant writing was a big part of how I would bring money in for the farm as well. Problem solving, planning and management for this organization led to keeping the programs afloat. I would host field trips for the local schools, and potlucks for the community to engage with the new shared space donated by the property owners. Show less
