Taught Japanese to Beginner/Intermediate 10-13 year old students as part of cultural immersion. I developed mentor relationships with students and offered mental and emotional support to students who were struggling being away from home for a long period of time.I provided a fully immersive environment by encouraging use of Japanese language during activities such as class, meal times, and culturally relevant activities such as Japanese taiko (drum) lessons. To further encourage use of Japanese language at all times, I also supervised overnight cabins with campers and continuously spoke in the target language throughout the entire program. Show less
