Second Placement is about to begin and I am excited that it is once again at Kids Ability. I got to learn so much during first placement, I cant wait to put those skills to work during second placement. I look forward to working one on one with the clients and expanding on my skills that I have already obtained.

I completed my first placement at Kids Ability in Guelph for the Autism Behavioral Sciences Program. While I was there I got to observe how the IT's properly managed behaviors of the learners based on their functions. I also was able to experience what a teaching session looked like, how to properly error correct, how to take data on the baseline and probes and how to set up the work space to be able to work efficiently and quickly. I got to see how teaching in NET worked, how to manage a dyad and how to efficiently help the learners through non-compliance. It was a great introduction to the field of IBI.

I provide an environment that is safe and fun. Encourage the children to utilize tools around them that will enhance their learning about daily routines like dressing, eating, and cleanliness. I explore fun activities like baking, painting, block building, music, and physical health with the children daily. I allow the children to express themselves freely while also keeping them on track with house rules, and their manners. I provide an environment that is safe and fun.
