  Worked to reduce the dropout rate in a low-income community with limited resources. I tutored, mentored, and coached 6th through 8th grade students with schoolwork, attendance, and behavior. I gave them tools to set personal goals and increase self-confidence in their academic success, teaching them to keep track of their progress and identify areas of growth. I provided intensive English Language Arts tutoring for small groups of two to three students four days a week to enhance their reading, writing, and classroom skills. I planned parent and community engagement events, communicated with teammates, school staff and parents about student behavior/success/improvement, and partnered with companies like Applied Materials, Nvidia, and Microsoft on beautification projects as well as providing resources to our students. I also co-taught a 3 hour after-school class five days a week, where I provided academic support and enrichment activities to K-8th grade students, taught STEAM lessons, enhanced academic learning, and gave students an opportunity to engage in projects related to architecture, physics and motion, art, coding, science, and many other projects that also included a fun lesson on rocket building.
